Margaret "Peggy" Rae Carpenter was arrested Saturday afternoon, June 11th, after beating her husband because he wouldn't remove his Confederate flag from the front lawn.

According to the Tampa Bay Times, when the Safety Harbor resident asked her husband, Larry, to take down the flag, he raised his arm to keep her away. Carpenter then struck Larry and her bracelets broke his skin, drawing blood.

Carpenter will now face a charge of domestic battery. She was released Sunday afternoon.
