Put the South in your mouth at the “South Meets South” dinner tomorrow

No matter which side of the "Orlando is the South" line you fall on, there's no denying we have some killer Southern cuisine around these parts. You don't have to go far to find fried okra, black-eyed peas, pimiento cheese and so, so many iterations of fried yardbird.

Tomorrow, July 16, two of O-town's finest chefs, John Rivers (4 Rivers Smokehouse, the Coop) and Greg Richie (Cityfish, Soco) go head-to-head in a collaborative five-course dinner with optional cocktail or wine pairings at Richie's Soco in Thornton Park.

For $100 – plus an extra $35 for the adult beverage pairings – you'll get five creative courses from both chefs (pictured: some of John Rivers' creations for the event), and admission to a cocktail hour starting at 5 p.m. and continuing through the 6-9 p.m. seatings.
