star Steve-O, known for stunts like letting people fart in his face and then vomiting
, was arrested Sunday night after climbing a crane to protest animal abuse at SeaWorld.
At 8 p.m. police and firefighters were called to a construction site located at Selma Avenue and Gower Street in Hollywood, California, to find the stuntman atop a 100 ft crane. Authorities setup a cushion in case the stuntman fell to his death.
Steve-O, whose actual name is Stephen Glover, streamed the entire experience on his Facebook page
and proceeded to inflate a killer whale blow-up toy and shoot fireworks off.
According to NBC Los Angeles
, Steve-O climbed down at 9:45 p.m. and was promptly arrested. He is currently facing charges that include "conspiracy to commit a crime, trespassing, setting off explosives without a permit and filming for personal gain without a permit."
Last year, Steve-O was arrested for altering a digital freeway traffic sign in San Diego to say "SeaWorld Sucks."
Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart told the Associated Press, "Some of the resources on this hoax could have been devoted to a real emergency."
