Sanford Police Officer Andrew Ricks is apparently a huge fan of Vital Remains, so much so that last Friday he attended one of their concerts at the West End Trading Company while in uniform.

A video shows Ricks having the time of his life on stage with the band, singing a song that included the lyrics "let the killing begin."

The video reached Sanford Police Chief Cecil Smith on Tuesday, who immediately fired Ricks the next day, WFTV reports.

"An incident of this nature erodes the thin fibers of trust which already exist between the community and the police and it will not tolerated within the Sanford Police Department," Smith said in a statement.

Ricks had submitted a resignation letter to the department on Oct. 30, and he planned to leave the agency on Nov. 20.
