A Jack Russell terrier in a lifejacket was recently found paddling around roughly 5 miles from shore in the Gulf of Mexico, which is a terrible place for a dog.

According to Fox 13, two couples boating near Hernando Beach last Sunday when they spotted what they thought was a buoy. "You just saw his little nose sticking up out of the water," said Shawn Sahr to Fox 13.

The dog, who's name is J├Ągermeister, was plucked from the ocean and taken to the local Coast Guard station. Apparently, the lucky pooch was reported missing 3 hours earlier after falling overboard, reports the station.
