Is that the Lake Eola amphitheater under his elbow?
Next-day delivery? Blah, so tired. As of today in Orlando, Amazon Prime Now will bring you the goods within two hours
. Yep, you can get whatever you want (well, not whatever you want – there's a list here of available inventory) in your hot little hands, if you're a paid-up Amazon Prime member. From the horse:
Amazon announced today that its Prime Now one-hour delivery service is expanding to Orlando. The ultra-fast service, offered exclusively as a benefit to Prime members, provides one-hour delivery on tens of thousands of daily essentials from staples like paper towels, milk or ice cream, to electronics such as laptops and Kindle devices. Prime members can download the Prime Now app, available on iOS and Android devices, and will be notified when the service is available in their zip code. Prime members can also shop on primenow.com.
If you're lucky (well, if you pay for it), the Prime Fairy will leave a treat on your office chair
So that's groceries, diapers, candy, even that charger cord or video dongle you can never keep track of at work – as long as you order it two hours before you need it, no prob.
One-hour delivery in Orlando is a flat-rate $7.99 fee, and two-hour delivery is free. Prime Now is available locally from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week. Go here
to see what they will deliver, and if they currently offer delivery to your ZIP code.
And it might have gummy bears in it, like this one did
This is one of those services we figured would take forever to roll into Orlando, long after bigger cities got it. Now that it's here, we're going to have to work hard not to be ordering gummy bears to our desks every day at 3 p.m.
