Sleep announces Orlando benefit show for Pulse victims

Doom metal icons Sleep this afternoon announced a benefit show in Orlando this summer for victims and families of the Pulse massacre.

The show will take place July 26 at the Beacham Theater. Tickets are $30 with all proceeds going to victims and families.

Sleep became (in)famous in in-the-know metal circles in the late Nineties for their nod-inducing masterpiece Dopesmoker, a one-song album-length paean to weed that stretched the boundaries of the doom/stoner genre to the breaking point. It also ended up breaking up the band, though they reformed in 2009 to much-deserved cult accolades.

This is very cool. Watch a recent Sleep live set below. Purchase tickets here.
