An unmanned police cruiser was firebombed in Daytona Beach, Florida, and a note referencing the Black Lives Matter movement was found nearby.
According to the Daytona Beach News-Journal
, the cruiser was parked near the Islamic Center at 347 S. Keech St. as a "ghost car," to deter crime in the area.
Authorities say the incident occurred at around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 17.
The fire was put out and no one was injured.
Besides mentioning the Black Lives Matter movement, the note, which was found near the scene, also referenced the most recent victims of police shootings Alton Sterling in Baton Rouge, and Philando Castile in Minnesota, and ends with "Fuck the police."
