With virtual reality experiencing something of a second coming thanks to a slew of relatively cheap headsets like the Oculus Rift
, HTC Vive
or even Google Cardboard
, it should come as no surprise that a big entertainment company like Universal Studios has jumped on the bandwagon.
This year's Halloween Horror Nights will feature The Repository, a haunted house experience that combines VR headsets and live action storytelling.
The official story from Universal Studios
mentions a plot involving an old warehouse, spectral transportation and a secret organization, but what we really want to know is where we can pull up a chair and watch patrons walk face-first into walls.
The Repository is not included with the normal Halloween Horror Nights admission, but instead is available as a $49.99 upgrade to your regular HHN pass.
Halloween Horror Nights
runs Sept. 29-Oct. 31, and tickets go on sale for annual passholders this coming Tuesday. Aug. 16 and to the general public the following Tuesday, Aug. 23.
