Orlando Regional Medical Center officials say the last hospitalized survivor who has been in critical condition since the mass shooting at Pulse has improved to a "guarded condition."
Health officials would not elaborate on Orlando Health's Twitter
or via email on what "guarded" means presumably because of medical privacy regulations, and there's little definition elsewhere. The American Hospital Association has a suggested list
of one-word descriptions of a patient's general condition, but that list does not include guarded.
Since the shooting on June 12 that killed 49 people and wounded 53 others, ORMC surgeons have performed 75 operations on victims.
"Our hearts and prayers are with the PULSE night club victims and their families as we continue to work through this trying time together," the hospital says in a statement.
