Red Lion Pub to close down after 27 years in business

After 27 years in business, Winter Park's Red Lion Pub will be shutting its doors. In a Facebook post, owner Rosemarie Ryan announced that the time has come for the bar and music venue to shut down, citing slowing business as the main reason. The bar, located at 3784 Howell Branch Road in Winter Park, expanded last year by opening up the Lion's Den, an adjoining space devoted to live music, community-led yoga and other diverse events. A blockbuster send-off party is in the works for their 27th anniversary on Sept. 17, after which the pub will stay open long enough to sell off its inventory and clean out the space before locking its doors for the last time.
