The new Star Wars Land, coming to both Disneyland and Disney World, will be a land of choices and consequences.
At the 2017 Star Wars Celebration in Orlando, Disney's Imagineers revealed that the choices made throughout a guest's visit will have a direct effect on their experiences there, taking the idea of an "immersive attraction" to a whole new level.
This means that your interactions with other guests, whether or not the Millennium Falcon has a successful landing, and even where you choose to sit on a ride, can determine what happens for the rest of the day.
You could be sought after by a bounty hunter, or have to answer to roaming droids and other characters that will ask you to make a series of decisions.
Basically, throughout the day you will build your own reputation at the park, so choose wisely. (See the season finale of Westworld for examples of what could go wrong.)
This isn't the first time Disney has tested the idea. Legends of Frontierland at Disneyland also gave guests the opportunity to write themselves into the storyline while they were there, interact with characters and face consequences or be rewarded based on their efforts.
It is not known yet exactly how Disney is planning to pull this off, but it's possible with the help of MagicBand technology. Disney did reveal, however, that more information on Star Wars Land will be released at the D23 Expo in Anaheim in July 2017.
Star Wars Land opens in both Walt Disney World and Disneyland in 2019.
