A UMP .45-caliber submachine gun
An unmarked Orange County Sheriff's Office patrol car was stolen from the Fun Spot parking lot and now a trove of state-issued firearms are missing.
According to WESH
, the car, which was reported stolen at 9:30 p.m. last Saturday, was eventually found on International Drive. However, two pistols, a submachine gun, ammunition, a tactical vest and a Sheriff's star are still missing.
This isn't the first time this year a Central Florida patrol car and its contents have been jacked. Back in January
, an Orlando SWAT officer's unmarked police car was stolen from an apartment complex in Baldwin Park, along with a UMP .45-caliber submachine gun, four loaded magazines, a helmet and two magazines for a handgun.
A few weeks later, a Tavares police officer woke up to find the windows of his marked squad car smashed in and a short-barreled AR rifle missing
Then, in February
, an AR-15 was stolen from a Orlando Police Department patrol vehicle, along with the entire gun mount locking device (which was also secured), at the Lake Nona Water Mark Apartments.
