Orlando artists aim to provide a space of inspiration and remembrance in the larger Orlando community at the One City – One Pulse art exhibition, one year after the Pulse tragedy. While the event is free, donations go toward OnePULSE and QLatinx. Coinciding with the Third Thursday Gallery Hop in the Downtown Arts District, artists present work across all mediums at Gallery 29 and the Magic Gallery, both located inside CityArts Factory. Since last year’s tragedy, the community of Orlando has rallied around those groups that were targeted and continues to do so one year later. According to the event’s Facebook page, the theme is “Diversity and Inclusion in the Orlando, LatinX and LGBT community.” Event organizers have called for local writers to submit poetry, short stories and essays in both Spanish and English to share written perspectives, in addition to the artwork.
