Things aren't looking good for the Old Spanish Sugar Mill

After 50 years the Old Spanish Sugar Mill Grill and Griddle House, the beloved make-your-own pancake destination of DeLeon Springs State Park, is in danger of closing.

According to WKMG, The Old Spanish Sugar Mill operates as a concession for the Florida Parks Service and the restaurant's owner, Patty Schwarze, has had no word on whether or not this agreement will be renewed.

Schwarze says she has been contacting them since January and if the contract isn't quickly renewed, then the Mill could close as early as September 30.

"Currently we are working to extend this contract and staff are working to schedule a meeting with the company's representatives this week to discuss the contract," said Florida Parks Service in a statement to WKMG.

Schwarze is asking customers, who want to show their support, to email or call:
