DoveCote's three-course picnic wine dinner is Aug. 2

  • Rob Bartlett
It's hot. Really hot. That's why DoveCote is fulfilling all our summer dreams and hosting a picnic-themed wine dinner in the air conditioning on Wednesday, Aug. 2, at 6:30 p.m.

The best part, you don't have to dress up. Flip-flops are specifically mentioned as appropriate attire for this casual fête.

Just $58 will net you three courses paired with wines from Joseph Drouhin, a winery in Oregon.

The first course includes oysters on the half-shell, plus clams and sausage "cassoulet" steamed in beer. Next, all the usual picnic suspects, including fried chicken, corn and watermelon salad. Dessert is strawberry shortcake served with a Foxtail Flat White Russian milkshake.
