Locally filmed 'Florida Project' debuting at Enzian Theater this October

Florida Project, the much buzzed-about feature film set in Osceola County, is debuting locally this October.

The film comes exclusively to the Enzian Theater Thursday, Oct. 12, and will be followed by three additional showings that weekend.

Starring movie veteran Willem Dafoe alongside newcomers Brooklynn Prince of Winter Springs and Valeria Cotto of Davenport, Florida Project follows the misadventures of two girls in the halls of a beat-down motel in the shadows of Walt Disney World.

Florida Project, directed by Sean Baker (Tangerine), features quit a few recognizable Orlando area attractions, including Kissimmee's Crazy Wizard Gift Shop and Orange World Gift Shops.

So far, the film has been met rave reviews. Last year, it was major hit at the Cannes Film Festival. The Hollywood Reporter called it "a fabulous mosaic of one particular pocket of America's invisible homeless population."
