Orlando residents will call on House Republicans to take a stand against the proposed Trump-Ryan tax plan this Wednesday.

The protest is planned by For Florida's Future, a nonprofit public policy organization, and will take place at Marco Rubio's office at 201 S. Orange Ave. this Wednesday, Oct. 4, at 12:30 p.m.

The demonstration comes in anticipation of the House of Representatives budget resolution vote this Thursday. "The Republican tax framework, like the failed healthcare repeal bill, is just another attempt to slash taxes for the rich and wealthy corporations paid for by gutting Social Security, healthcare, education and public services working families rely on," said the group in a statement. "The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities speculates that House Republicans' plan could cut as much as $5 trillion to the rich and repeal the estate tax for the top 0.2 percent, while slashing funding for healthcare, Social Security, education and other public services."

Other local groups will be joining the protest, including Challenge Politics, Women’s March Central Florida and Indivisible Central Florida.
