Grocery chain Sprouts Farmers Market is moving into the shopping center near Aloma and Lakemont that once housed the Winter Park Whole Foods.

The stores, which typically are about the same size as a Trader Joe's, specialize in relatively cheaper organic foods, fresh meats and produce, and bulk-food items.

"We’re ramping up expansion efforts based on the strong performance of our Tampa and Sarasota stores, and positive customer response to the affordable fresh and natural products across the entire store," said chief development officer Ted Frumkin in a press release.

So far, no exact opening date has been confirmed.
