The Edison complex at Disney Springs was initially thought to be opening in winter 2016, then it was fall 2017, but a recent tweet might’ve accidentally finally given us the actual opening date, and it isn’t even this year.

The Edison's now deleted tweet stating the opening date.
In a tweet reminding followers of the time change this past weekend, The Edison
tweeted a graphic showing an industrial-gothic clock with the reminder. In the bottom right of the image it stated: “Opening Jan 1st
2018 Disney Springs.”
The tweet was quickly deleted and a new image
, without the date, was later shared on both The Edison’s Twitter and Facebook pages.
There hasn’t been any official confirmation on if the New Year’s Day opening is true or not. If correct, it would place it at the tail end of the busiest week of the year for Central Florida tourism.
The industrial-gothic Edison club is just one of four establishments that the Patina Restaurant Group plans to open in the former Adventurer’s Club and BET Soundstage space. Three Italian restaurants
will also join the space.
Enzo’s Hideaway will be a rum running-themed speakeasy. Next door, Maria and Enzo’s Ristorante will be a sit-down restaurant with large windows overlooking the water and ceilings that stretch five stories high in a venue themed to an abandoned 1930s airline terminal. Fast-casual pizza joint Pizza Ponte will round out the space
The Edison is the most anticipated of the four venues. It will have numerous rooms with actors and performances throughout the space. A waterfront patio will provide views of the lake. Inside rooms like The Tesla Lounge, The Radio Room, and the Telegraph Lounge will give the venue intimate rooms similar to the ones found at the Adventurer’s Club.
The official website
for The Edison still lists ‘Fall 2017’ as the opening. With it already being November, that seems unlikely.
