Protesters will gather at Lake Eola Friday afternoon to rally against President Donald Trump's recent decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, a move that has angered everyone from the pope, to the United Nations, and pretty much all of America's allies.

The rally, "Hands off Jerusalem, a rally for Palestine," is organized by CAIR Florida and The Florida Resistance and will be held in front of the Walt Disney amphitheater from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

From the Facebook event page:
A historic announcement took place on 12/6/2017 by U.S. President Donald Trump recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, a globally unprecedented, dangerous and opposed move for the region.

Jerusalem has been deemed an international city in 1948 because of its significance to the world. The International Community has called on Israel to withdraw from territories it occupied during the 1967 war. This move legitimizes Israel's illegal annexation of Jerusalem including its ongoing displacement and disenfranchisement of the city's Palestinian population.
