SunRail will run several extra trains to support downtown bowl games next week and on Jan. 1. You can ride them even if you hate football, though.

On Thursday, Dec. 28, special night trains will leave from Lynx Central Station at the following times: northbound, 9:28 p.m. and 10:18 p.m.; and southbound, 8:48 p.m. and 9:49 p.m. As they put it in the announcement, the extra service is "for those attending the Camping World Bowl at Camping World Stadium, featuring Virginia Tech vs. Oklahoma State" but you know what, I bet if you're just there to catch a drink downtown without having to drive or park, no one will be the wiser.

On New Year's Day, SunRail will run more than 11 hours of special service, with the first southbound train leaving DeBary at 8 a.m., and the last northbound train leaving Sand Lake Road at 6:15 p.m., arriving in DeBary at 7:18 p.m. Check out the whole special schedule at (Again, this is presented as a transpo option for those attending the Citrus Bowl at  Camping World stadium, but we say, be free, roam if you want to.)

If you are taking the train to the bowl games, though, there will be shuttle buses available between the Lynx station and Camping World Stadium for both events.
