Cress' Seven Countries dinner
Last year, Jenneffer and Hari Pulapaka of Cress Restaurant in Deland hosted a special gathering called 7 Courses, 7 Countries
, which celebrated the unique cuisines of the countries featured in Trump's Muslim travel ban.
Now, the duo says they're hosting a dinner featuring food from Trump's "shithole countries.
The event, "$H!THOLE: Celebrating Food & Culture of Shithole Countries" will highlight cuisine from Haiti, El Salvador, and various African nations.
Cress made the announcement on their Facebook page
early Tuesday, following up with event details later that evening.
Day/Date/Time: Sunday, March 25th, 4-6:30 pm
Location:: On West Indiana Avenue outside Cress Restaurant and to the West
Cost/person: $40 (food and service) plus Florida sales tax
A note about the event:
As we stand in solidarity with the people, culture, and food from Haiti, El Salvador, and the continent of Africa.], we are proud to showcase a family-style meal inspired by these regions. We are not serving or selling alcohol because this is an event on the street. However, the event is BYOB so we encourage you to celebrate with your favorite beverages. A portion of the proceeds will benefit an appropriate cause that aligns with the theme of the event.
Over 300 showed up for last year's event dinner. Tickets for this year's event can be purchased here
. Menu details are yet to be announced.
