Snow fell in Florida for the third time this year

This morning, a winter storm brought snow to northern Florida for the third time this year. This is a first in seven years, since 2010-2011, where multiple snow and ice sightings have been seen in the same winter.

According to the Weather Channel, Crestview and De Funiak Springs saw snow early this morning, and freezing rain was reported in Ft. Walton Beach.

This winter, Central Florida has experienced record-breaking cold. Orlando has already had its fourth-coldest week ever, with average temperatures of 38.9 degrees and 47.3 degrees.

Temperatures are expected to drop Thursday in Central Florida along with a freeze watch going into effect later tonight until Thursday morning, the National Weather Service projects.

Florida saw the last round of snow from the winter storm, but cold weather remains as the weekend approaches.
