U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions will deliver remarks Wednesday afternoon in Tampa on drug trafficking and the nation’s opioid epidemic, according to the Justice Department.

The news conference is scheduled to take place at the U.S. attorney’s office in downtown Tampa.

Sessions’ trip comes in stride with attempts by Florida lawmakers to combat the rising drug crisis. Most recently, Gov. Rick Scott proposed four measures aimed at curving the problem. Those measures include stopping doctors from prescribing more than three days’ worth of opioids to treat acute pain and expanding access to a prescription drug database.
