We’re all in agreement that Tom Hanks is the perfect casting for an upcoming biopic about Fred Rogers, host of beloved children’s program Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood
. And this weekend, Winter Park’s Central Park hosts the annual Be My Neighbor Day just a few blocks from Rogers’ alma mater, Rollins College. The day in the park may be geared more toward young fans of Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood
– the current PBS kids program populated with animated versions of characters from Rogers’ “Neighborhood of Make-Believe” – but Rogers’ legacy will still get acknowledged through educational panels from the Winter Park History Museum. Won’t you be our neighbor?
