TR Fire Grill in Winter Park closed its doors today.

The concept restaurant by Romacorp., the Orlando-based owner of the Tony Roma's rib chain, was open for two years in the Ravaudage complex at the corner of 17-92 and Lee Road, but never quite found widespread popularity. Our 2016 review praised the restaurant's "inspiring decor and prompt service," but was less inspired by the food.

On the upside, Romacorp.'s reboot of their flagship, Tony Roma's, was a big hit with the same reviewer ("the food was so good I was shocked").
"Tony Roma’s is actually doing really well following the rebranding. The new brand is spreading through existing locations as many remodel," Romacorp. rep Esther McIlvain tells us, adding that new locations are opening in West Palm Beach, Denver, Tennessee, Idaho and other locations in Colorado, as well as new licensing deals for Tony Roma’s in Europe, Mexico, Australia and New Zealand.
