Doug Rhodehamel returns to Stardust with an art show about Plankton

  • Doug Rhodehamel
Local artist Doug Rhodehamel long ago left behind his world-famous mushrooms to focus on spaceships and robots and the like – now he’s back with a show of microscopic sea creatures. Well, the creatures are microscopic; his portraits of them are not. Rhodehamel applies his signature whimsical vision (or as he calls it, “weirdo brain”) to coccolithophores, cyanobacteria, diatoms, dinoflagellates and other plankton in this new show at his eternal hangout, Stardust. Stop by, say hi, and never fear: As always at a Rhodehamel event, there will be cheese.
