Mitski heads to Plaza Live for a victory lap after a great 2018

  • Bao Ngo
After the release of last year’s universally lauded Be the Cowboy and the album’s appearance on several Best of 2018 lists, Mitski Miyawaki steps into the Plaza this week for a victory lap. Since 2014’s Bury Me at Makeout Creek, Mitski’s emotionally evocative indie rock has grown sharper and more sweeping, resulting in songs that feel both intimate and grandiose. Opening for the tour is the similarly minded bedroom pop of California’s Jay Som, making attendance at this show mandatory for the tuned-in.

with Jay Som | 8 p.m. Thursday, April 11 | The Plaza Live, 425 N. Bumby Ave. | 407-228-1220 | | $30-$60
