4th Annual Orlando Pottery Festival

When: Sat., Dec. 6, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. 2014

This is Central Florida’s largest pot- tery event, with more than 50 artists hawking carefully sculpted wares in the old Loch Haven Neighborhood Center on Lake Formosa (and this may be your last chance to enjoy the center in all its retro glory before its new tenants, Orlando Ballet, have their way with it). Expect live demos, a raffle and free parking, along with the requisite food-truck presence we’ve come to expect at any hip Orlando event. With this many talented artists in one room, you’ll be hard-pressed not to walk away with a something; a hand- crafted Miyazaki-inspired ornament, an avant-garde sculpture, a gorgeous wood- burned bowl, a fancy mug or maybe just a flushed face because it made you think of that super-sexy scene in Ghost. Pottery: It’s just so hot.
