It’s a rare occasion when a record label brings an entire community together, but Relief in Abstract has done just that. Created by two ambitious teens in the suburbs of Orlando in 2011, RIA has grown to an unexpectedly monumental size. Releasing music from artists such as XXYYXX, Fortune Howl and Spies on Bikes, the label primarily focuses on electronic-driven soundscapes with an eerie post-dub production. However, this success hasn’t severed the label from its roots – RIA continues to bring Orlando artists and musicians together to create inspired music the rest of the world immediately admired. We were excited to recently learn the collective hopes to diverge from that sonic plain in the future, diversifying their reputable portfolio further.
