OPENINGS: Proper & Wild, the higher-end vegan resto by the Sanctum Cafe’s Chelsie and Jamie Savage, has opened. Their Sanctum Coffee & Juice Bar on Douglas Avenue in Altamonte Springs will open next month … Veranda, the city’s first Romanian restaurant, has opened on West Sand Lake Road across from the Florida Mall … Midici is now serving its Neapolitan pies at the Maitland City Centre … Look for Bread & Co. Artisan Bakery to move into the old Wonton Asian Kitchen space in Winter Park … José Andrés will open a brick-and-mortar location of his popular D.C. food truck, Pepe. The grab-and-go joint will be connected to his tapas restaurant Jaleo. Both are expected to open in March … Eola General, a venture by Sean Kelley (Henry’s Depot), Shaun Noonan (Dixie Dharma) and Joe Roberti (Grain & Ember/Pizzeria Roberti), will open in the former Handy Pantry building on Amelia Street next month. The general store/deli will serve sandwiches, vegan fare, pizzas, raw milk products and wine … Nourish Coffee Bar + Kitchen will open in early February inside the new Center for Health & Wellbeing near the Winter Park Hospital … Salata, a “next generation salad bar,” opens Feb. 7 at the Colonial Town Park in Lake Mary.

CLOSINGS: After three years, the College Park Farmers Market has called it quits. The market’s organizers, Jed and Amanda Stone, will focus on opening another location of their Grounding Roots juice bar at the Grove at Winter Park.

NEWS/EVENTS: James and Julie Petrakis will take over the Enterprise Rent-A-Car building next to the Ravenous Pig to expand their brewery operations … Speaking of, the Ravenous Pig hosts Edmund’s Oast Brewing for a four-course beer collab dinner Monday, Feb. 4. Cost is $65 … The Parramore Farmers Market is back in business with a new location: The Department of Health parking lot at 832 W. Central Blvd. The market goes from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday with more than 30 local vendors … Field to Feast, the outdoor culinary extravaganza organized by Edible Orlando, will see Disney’s finest chefs prepare dishes from local ingredients with wine, beer and cocktail pairings. The event is Feb. 23 at Long & Scott Farms. Cost is $175 … Notable local chefs like Julie Petrakis (Ravenous Pig), Brandon McGlamery (Luma/Prato/Luke’s), Clay Miller (Dovecote), Kathleen Blake (Rusty Spoon), Kevin Fonzo and more will fashion high-end meals using McDonald’s ingredients in the Appetite for the Arches gala March 2 at the Rosen Shingle Creek. Cost is $200 ($275 day of event), with proceeds going to the Ronald McDonald House Charities.
