Iron Chef vs. grill boy Bobby Flay

Fukui-san! "Iron Chef" fans are surely booked for 9 p.m. Sunday, June 25, as the Food Network airs "Iron Chef NY Battle." In this two-hour special, Food TV's grill-boy du jour Bobby Flay goes mano a mano against fearsome Iron Chef Masa-haru Morimoto in a battle to the death -- or at least through dessert.

We can't say who wins, but a spy at the taping claims the normally suave Flay manages to electrocute himself and ends up bloody. And the secret "theme" (ingredient) is lowered from the ceiling in a glittering disco ball. To maximize the Japanese-produced weirdness, one of the evening's judges is Donna Hanover, future ex-wife of N.Y.C. Mayor Rudy Giuliani. Wow!

If none of this makes any sense, do some background research at www.foodtv.com and catch some "Iron Chef" syndicated repeats, then tune in this weekend to discover for yourself the world's greatest cooking show ever!
