Levey not leaving

The city's chief administrative officer, Richard Levey, was considering stepping down from his position Jan. 1 to pursue a management job at the Orlando Airport, according to sources at City Hall.

Tom Kohler, executive director of the Downtown Development Board, was rumored to be the favorite to replace Levey -- a move some neighborhood associations hate because Kohler is seen as pro-business at the expense of neighborhoods.

Levey's departure reportedly fell through when he couldn't reach a salary deal with the airport.

Levey denies he's going anywhere. "I'm happily employed and enjoy my job," he says.
