Mass production with mass appeal



The word "Factory" doesn't necessarily conjure up delectable images of fine cuisine, though there are exceptions, such as winners like The Cheesecake Factory in Winter Park.

Here's another: The Taboule Factory in Longwood (830 S. County Road 427; 407-831-5781), which cranks out tasty Lebanese-inspired items. Henry Ford didn't have fatoosh or baba ghanoush coming off his assembly line, but Alan NeJames' mass-production facility behind his restaurant combines fresh parsley, tomato and cracked wheat into green acres of healthy, fresh "taboule" (a.k.a. tabouli or tabbouleh).

Meat lovers won't feel left out, with kibbee (made from lamb, onion and bulgar wheat), chicken and sausage pizza (a well-known Lebanese dish) also on the menu.

Where else can you buy taboule in 5-pound packages for your next party? Leave the hard hat home.
