Austin Lucas – Stay Reckless
New West Records
★★★★ (out of 5 stars)

Well-known to the Americana cognoscenti, this Indiana native has been running and working with some premier talent in the young twangster scene, first blipping on serious radars as a bright new standout on a particularly vintage 2008 cast of Chuck Ragan’s Revival Tour. Hopefully, with this next-level emergence on leading alt-country label New West, one of today’s purest young country voices will finally get its full due. For the big occasion, Lucas steps out with a full band (Tennessee’s Glossary) for a robust country-rock affair. But even with all the backing muscle, thankfully that heavenly, traditional voice is still the star.
