Orlando Philharmonic gets donation for Plaza Live renovation

Anonymous donor gives organization $1 million toward renovating aging venue

Plaza Live to undergo renovations

The Orlando Philharmonic announced that it received an anonymous $1 million donation toward its plan to renovate the Plaza Live theater, which it purchased in August for $3.4 million. With this gift, the Orlando Phil now has more than half of what it needs to overhaul the aging facility. Upgrades will include new seating, offices and an renovated backstage area to start. Bigger plans include updates to the lobby and theaters, new dressing rooms, a sheet music library and more. Orlando Phil estimates that it will need about $6 million to complete all of the renovations.
