"These days, everyone is looking for bargains. One of the labels that always delivers the most bang for your buck is the UK's Tru Thoughts Recordings. Their latest compilation, Shapes 10:02, contains two discs full of dub, afro-beat, soul, deep house and jazzy grooves previously only available on vinyl. Press play and prepare to feel good. Dancing is optional."

The long-running Phat-N-Jazzy series (10 p.m. Tuesday, April 12 at the Social) ends its weekly run next month. One of the night's consistent residents, DJ BMF continues to spin at various local spots and his label, Eighth Dimension, recently released a compilation titled Quincy Jointz Presents Lime Sorbet.
