This is a little late in coming, but it's worth relaying the definitive action taken by the Orange County School Board on the matter of school uniforms, as reported in the district's own news release following its May 25 meeting.

Under the heading "Uniform Dress Code and Safety Issues to be Studied," the release reports: "The school board has asked the superintendent to look at the issue of student school uniforms. The superintendent will fold the topic of school uniforms into a nearly completed task force study on school safety that will be presented to the board on June 15. The report to the board will include no recommendations, but will outline a plan to study the issue in the future."

Where we come from, that earns a grade of "incomplete."
