In case you missed it, an excerpt from Orlando Sentinel's Oct. 27 endorsement of Gov. Jeb Bush: "Bush consistently has supported bills to keep public business hidden from taxpayer scrutiny. He has squandered billions of dollars on questionable tax cuts to support his affluent cronies. He has refused to even consider a wholesale review of special-interest tax exemptions routinely granted by the Legislature. The state agency assigned to protect abused and neglected children -- a top priority during his 1998 campaign -- is in shambles."
This is the same editorial board that threw its weight behind House speaker Tom Feeney in his bid for Congress.
Never mind lobbyist Feeney's frequent ethical lapses, including lingering allegations that he used his influence as speaker to help a client get an $8 million state contract. And please disregard his feverish support of school prayer, the fact that he once proposed a government database containing the names of all women who have had abortions, and his slightly odd comparison of yoga with Satanism.
He's good enough for Orlando Sentinel, so he's good enough for you.
